Afghan Special Raisins also known as Sundekhani are dried sweet grapes which are procured from the finest farms of Kandahar province in Afghanistan. While the colors of these raisins vary, these are generally a deep brown color. Having about 78 per cent fructose, raisins are a convenient, high energy low fat snack. They are high in calories and are suggested by dietitians for gaining weight.

They are known to be an effective cure for anemia, constipation, and acidosis. Like other dried fruits, raisins are available throughout the year. Raisins also help to fight dental problems such as cavities, gum diseases etc., as they contain oleanolic acid that helps kill the bacteria present in the plaque.
